Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 18 October 2026
These terms explain the rules for using the Celeb Drop website at celebdrop.co.za and its online marketplace. Please read them before creating an account, listing an item or placing an order. These terms do not remove or limit any right that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law.
1. Marketplace operator and contact details
The legal supplier and website disclosures required for an online business must be completed here:
- Trading name: Celeb Drop.
- Legal name and legal status: [SITE OWNER ACTION: Insert the full legal name of the person or entity operating Celeb Drop and its legal status (for example, company, close corporation, partnership or sole proprietor).]
- Registration number and place of registration, if applicable: [SITE OWNER ACTION: Insert the registration number and place of registration, or state that registration does not apply.]
- Physical business address: [SITE OWNER ACTION: Insert the physical business address.]
- Address for service of legal documents: [SITE OWNER ACTION: Insert the physical address where legal documents may be served.]
- Telephone number: [SITE OWNER ACTION: Insert a working public telephone number.]
- Customer support email: [SITE OWNER ACTION: Insert the monitored customer support email address.]
- Applicable industry body, accreditation or code of conduct, if any: [SITE OWNER ACTION: Insert the body/code and contact details, or state none.]
[SITE OWNER ACTION: Confirm the marketplace model before launch: explain whether Celeb Drop sells items itself, introduces buyers to independent celebrity sellers, or does both; identify who is the seller/contracting supplier for each order, who takes payment, and who handles delivery, cancellations, returns and refunds. The product page and checkout must make this clear before purchase.]
2. About the marketplace
Celeb Drop presents a marketplace for items associated with celebrities and public profiles. A listing should identify the item, its condition, price, seller and material delivery information. Unless a listing or checkout clearly says Celeb Drop is the seller, do not assume Celeb Drop owns or supplies an item offered by another seller. The highlighted marketplace-model disclosure above must be completed and the site’s checkout wording must match it.
A celebrity profile or association does not by itself guarantee that an item is signed, authentic, owned by a particular person, or endorsed by that person. Rely on the specific description and evidence provided with the listing. [SITE OWNER ACTION: Describe any authentication or provenance checks the platform actually performs; otherwise state plainly that no independent authentication is provided.]
3. Accounts and account security
Provide accurate information when registering and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account, except to the extent applicable law says otherwise. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. We may ask for reasonable information to verify account ownership or a seller’s identity and authority.
Seller accounts, public profiles and listings may be subject to review and approval. We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably needed to investigate suspected fraud, protect users, comply with law, or enforce these terms. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and how to contact support.
4. Listings and seller responsibilities
Sellers must have the right to offer an item and must provide a truthful, complete description, including material condition, included parts, price and any relevant limitations. Sellers must not list illegal, counterfeit, stolen, unsafe or misleadingly described items, or use another person’s name, image or intellectual property without the necessary rights. Sellers remain responsible for fulfilling accepted orders and complying with consumer and other applicable laws, subject to the marketplace role disclosed for the transaction.
We may remove or correct a listing, request further information, or restrict an account where we reasonably believe a listing breaches these terms or applicable law. A seller must not move a transaction off-platform to avoid applicable marketplace rules or fees.
5. Orders, prices and payment
Check the listing and checkout details before submitting an order. The displayed total, delivery charge, taxes (if any), payment method, delivery estimate and seller identity should be shown before you commit. If an item is unavailable or a clear pricing error is found, the responsible supplier will contact you and explain the available lawful options, including cancellation and refund where required.
[SITE OWNER ACTION: Insert the actual order acceptance/contract formation process: when an order is binding, what confirmation is sent, the payment service provider(s), the payment methods accepted, and who receives/holds/disburses the funds. Do not publish a payment, escrow or payout claim unless it matches the live checkout.]
6. Delivery, risk and order issues
The applicable seller or fulfilment party must deliver the item to the address and within the timeframe shown at checkout, subject to the agreement and applicable law. Contact support promptly if an order is delayed, missing, damaged or materially different from its listing. Keep the packaging, photographs and order confirmation while the issue is reviewed.
[SITE OWNER ACTION: Confirm who arranges delivery, the courier/fulfilment process, delivery areas and estimates, when risk passes to the buyer, and whether any delivery tracking or insurance is available. Align this section with the checkout and seller agreement.]
7. Cancellations, returns and refunds
Nothing in these terms limits statutory consumer rights. For qualifying electronic transactions, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act may provide a seven-day cooling-off cancellation right, subject to exceptions in the Act. The Consumer Protection Act may also give a consumer remedies where goods fail to meet the required standards; for qualifying failures, section 56 provides a right to return goods within six months and choose repair, replacement or refund. The relevant facts and statutory exceptions matter. See our Buyer Protection and Returns page for how to raise an issue. [ECTA, sections 42–44; CPA, sections 55–56.]
Request a return or cancellation through the support channel below and include your order number and the reason. Do not send an item back until return instructions are provided, unless the law requires otherwise. This process does not take away any legal right to return, cancel or receive a remedy.
[SITE OWNER ACTION: Insert any additional change-of-mind return policy, time limits, conditions, return address and who pays return costs. Clearly distinguish voluntary policy from statutory rights, and confirm that any exclusions are legally valid.]
8. Reviews, messages and user-submitted content
You are responsible for content you submit. Do not post unlawful, deceptive, abusive, discriminatory, infringing or private information about another person without authority. By submitting content, you allow Celeb Drop to host, display, format and use it as necessary to operate and promote the relevant marketplace feature. You retain ownership of your content. [SITE OWNER ACTION: Confirm the scope, duration, territory and revocation terms for this content licence, and whether user reviews or messages are publicly displayed.]
9. Intellectual property and use of the website
Website design, software, text and branding are owned by or licensed to their respective rights holders. You may use the site for its intended personal marketplace purpose. You may not copy or commercially exploit site content, interfere with security, scrape data at scale, upload malicious code, impersonate another person, or use the site to break the law. Rights in seller-provided images and descriptions remain with their owners, subject to the permissions necessary to display a listing.
10. Privacy and communications
Our Privacy Policy describes how personal information is handled. We send messages needed to administer accounts and orders. Marketing messages will be sent only where permitted by law; you can opt out using the unsubscribe method in the message or contact us.
11. Availability, suspension and liability
We may maintain, change or temporarily suspend parts of the website for security, maintenance or operational reasons. We will take reasonable steps to keep marketplace information accurate, but user-generated listings and third-party services may contain errors or be unavailable. Nothing here excludes liability, a warranty or a consumer remedy where exclusion is prohibited by law, or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence where applicable law prohibits that limitation.
12. Complaints and disputes
Contact support first so we can try to resolve the issue. This does not prevent you from exercising a statutory remedy or approaching a competent consumer-protection or dispute-resolution body. These terms are governed by South African law, subject to any mandatory consumer protections and jurisdiction rules.
Support: [SITE OWNER ACTION: Insert the customer-support email and telephone number and confirm they match the operator details above.]
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the service or law changes. We will publish the current version here and update the date above. A change will not retrospectively remove rights that have already accrued under an existing order or applicable law.
14. Legal information checklist
[SITE OWNER ACTION: Before relying on this page as complete, replace every yellow SITE OWNER ACTION with verified information, remove the yellow highlight and instruction text, check that the operator and marketplace disclosures meet ECTA section 43, and ensure the page matches the live listings, seller agreements, checkout, payment and delivery processes.]
Official legislation: Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 and Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
